Spring has sprung in Central Oregon! Daffodils are sprouting, plants are waking up, and trees are budding and…and…rental property owners are showing a bit of optimism!
I am not sure if it is the sunny skies, but maybe we are turning the corner on falling rents and falling real estate prices!
All indicators are there - a stable and slightly lower unemployment rate, a few people being called back to work, and lower vacancy factors in our rental properties. Personally, I am seeing a little faster rent up time and more tenant applications. Time will tell; but something “feels” a bit different.
At COROA, the Board is working hard to bring added value to your COROA membership. Our classes have been almost standing room only, Channel 4 Ad Central is running new ads, our COROA website continues to expand, and forms and books are flying out of our COROA store!
At the Annual COROA meeting on April 1, we honored Board Member Susan Strawn with a COROA Lifetime Achievement award! In addition to decades of service on behalf of rental owners, Susan attends state meetings and keeps us informed on those issues, and goes “above and beyond” for COROA. Congratulations, Susan - keep up the good work!
So watch the market carefully: maybe one day soon we will be able to raise rents back to “fair market values.”
Now, go out and enjoy some of the brisk, sunny spring air!!!
