A Message From Your President
Wow! 2010 looks like an exciting year for COROA. Our monthly classes are going well and offer educational opportunities for both first-time rental owners as well as experienced ones.
Watch for your 2010 Central Oregon Rental Survey in the mail. Last year, our members reported on almost 4000 rental units all over Central Oregon, giving us important data on rents and occupancy. Local appraisers, brokers, bankers, and insurance agents use our results in their work. This year we have simplified the reporting in a couple of reporting areas. I know it can take time to fill out this survey, but your response is critical to the value of the survey, and the more units we can report on, the better. In fact, if you know rental owners who are not members, we urge you to give them a blank survey and have them fill it out and send it to us. We need all surveys sent back in the supplied self-addressed envelope by mid-February.
The results will be tabulated and released at our annual meeting on April 1, 2010, at McMenamins. Dan Steelhammer, a local commercial real estate broker and former president of COROA, has again offered to chair this effort and report the results. The featured speaker at that meeting will be Tammy Baney, Deschutes County Commissioner. Our thanks to COROA board member Michelle Bunting for coordinating this outstanding once-a-year event. (See flyer and sign-up sheet in this newsletter.)
Other exciting news is that COROA will soon have new ads on Ad Central 4 TV (Channel 4) and other cable channels. We hope that these new ads will let many more rental owners know that we’re here for them as a valuable educational and financial resource. We also are giving our COROA brochure a new look and hope to have it ready for the annual meeting.
The COROA Board of Directors is a hardworking and dedicated group that give of their time and talent to keep COROA a professional, growing organization. Our growing membership is evidence that we provide a good service.
Thanks to all board members for all of your hard work! It is a pleasure working with each of you.
