Trends and Hot Topics in Fair Housing
It's been a busy couple of years in the fair housing world and this class will increase your awareness about what's new. It will also provide a refresher on fair housing in general. We will look at current trends and hot topics, including hoarding as a disability, neighbor on neighbor harassment and criminal background screening and disparate impact. And what's a fair housing class without some discussion about reasonable accommodations, especially assistance animals? We will share what may be new in that arena as well.

*Louise Dix, Education and Outreach/AFFH Specialist for the Fair Housing Council of Oregon, has been training housing providers and advocates since 2012. She has facilitated hundreds of trainings for all types of housing providers throughout Oregon and SW Washington. Prior to joining the Fair Housing Council, Ms. Dix administered the Community Development Block Grant, HOME and Neighborhood Stabilization Programs for 12 years, first for the City of Medford and then for the City of Gresham. She was involved in the development of housing policy for both jurisdictions and took an active role to assure that both communities were affirmatively furthering fair housing.
Ms. Dix is an ATD Master Trainer.
Cancellations/Changes and Refunds: Registration fees are non-refundable for non-attendance, late arrivals, and early departures. Fees will be refunded if cancellation or change resulting in a refund is received in writing no later than 1 week before the workshop date. After that date, fees are non-refundable. Substitutions are allowed at no charge.
